Adalyn Griffin has known she's going to be the next dragon queen her whole life. After being thrown off a cliff at five years old, she's spent the last 20 years in hiding, waiting for her time to bring her dragons back into the spotlight.

For the last ten years, she's been in love with her best friend - Kenny Miller. He's been helping take care of her, making sure she has everything she needs, and keeping her up to date on the outside world.

There's one complication - Kai. Fifteen years ago, a boy was found in the woods, raised to be the first king of the dragons. In order to stop an internal war between a dying species, Adalyn decided long ago she would marry him for her dragons.
